column (Tesa Hite), hardness meters (Ernst), engraving machines (Ostling),
fatigue test machines (see photo opposite), marble surfaces of different sizes
and many miscellaneous test instruments (Mitutoyo).
In
the computing world, in addition to the hardware and software detailed on
the "Design Office" page, Don Foster has a network comprising a
dozen or so work stations, digitizing pads (Waco, 3M), and a drawing reproduction
unit (Technodia).

For
sheet metalwork, the company uses bending machines (LVD, Bombled), shears
(MIB), band saws (Promac), laser cutters (Mazak), chainsaws (Cefmo), bending
machines (Curvatubi), gouging machines (Almi), chambers and glove boxes for
titanium welding (Jacomex, see photo above), disk cutters (Facom), and a range
of TIG welding stations.
For painting, the company uses a paint booth and a micro sand-blaster.
Don
Foster has a complete machine inventory capable of machining into the
mass or working on sheets of any type of steel or special alloy, aluminum
and titanium.
The
company machining system includes 4-axis machining centers (Mikron VCE 1000)
and 5-axis units (DMU 50 eV), conventional lathes (Colchester, Cazeneuve,
Somab, Ernault-Somua), and display-equipped milling units (Huron, Vernier),
drilling machines, cylindrical grinders (Adam, Stic, Sovecop).
